From 16 June to 24 June 2023, we’re carrying out a system upgrade to support the launch of the Firearms Registry. MyFirearms is now unavailable.
As part of this upgrade, all draft applications and forms have been deleted. This includes any that have been saved but unsubmitted for less than the usual 30-day retention period.
We’ve made those with draft applications aware of this outage. If you didn’t submit your application prior to now, you’ll need to start a new application from 24 June 2023.
My licence expires before 24 June 2023 – what does this mean for me?
If you’ve submitted your complete application through MyFirearms or submitted your licence application to a Police station or emailed it to us, your licence will remain current, and you can continue using your firearm.

If you have not applied to renew your licence and it expires between 16 and 24 June 2023, your licence will expire. This means it will not be valid, and you will not be able to buy firearms or ammunition. You must also transfer possession of your firearms to a person with the appropriate licence.
If you want to know the status of your application between 16 June and 24 June, or have any other questions, you can call us on 0800 844 431 between 8am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
